Most background removers are built for one photo at a time. Shoupapp is built for the catalog: you decide the result once — the background, the margins, where the product sits, the pixel size and the file format — and every photo in the batch comes back the same way. Mixed formats, mixed sizes and phone photos in HEIC are all fine.
Removing the background is only the first step of a listing photo, so the rest happens in the same run: a natural shadow under the product, automatic positioning inside the same safe area so your whole range lines up in a grid, a crop or extra margin, a light enhancement, your logo if you want one, and resizing to the exact width and height you need. One photo costs one credit, however many of those steps you switch on.
Save the settings as a preset and next season’s photos come out identical to this season’s. Or put it on a schedule: new photos that land in your library are processed automatically, and you get an email when the run is done.
Tips for the best result
- Shoot on a plain, contrasting background. The clearer the edge between product and background, the cleaner the background removal — especially around hair, fur and thin straps.
- Keep one preset per channel. Your store, Amazon and social media rarely want the same size or margin; a preset each means nobody has to remember the numbers.
- Use transparent PNG for design work and JPG or WebP for listings, where file size matters.
- Set a maximum file size when a marketplace rejects heavy files, and the export is compressed to fit.

How many photos can I process at once?

Do I need to know anything about AI?
No. You choose a background, margins and a size, the same way you would in any export dialog. Everything behind it is set up for you.
What happens to my original photos?
Nothing. Every result is saved as a new file next to the original, which stays exactly as you uploaded it.
How long does a large batch take?
Large batches are made to be started and left: they run in the background while you work, and an automation emails you when a run is finished.
What if a photo fails?
